Is Your Child Having a Hard Time?
Sometimes emotions come out through behaviour rather than words.
Your child or teen may be experiencing:
-
Big emotions or difficulty calming down
-
Anxiety, worry, or stress
-
ADHD or neurodivergent needs
-
Anger or behavioural challenges
-
Low confidence or self-esteem
-
Difficulty expressing feelings
-
School or social challenges
-
Family changes or transitions
-
Grief or difficult life experiences
Therapy does not always have to begin with talking.
Creative and sensory experiences can give children another way to communicate, explore their experiences, and develop healthier ways of responding to difficult emotions.
2
Art Therapy
Art therapy combines creative expression with psychotherapy.
Children and teens can use drawing, painting, clay, collage, and other creative materials to explore emotions and experiences that may be difficult to express through words alone.
No artistic experience or ability is required.
3
Therapeutic Play
Play is one of the natural ways children communicate and understand their world.
Therapeutic play can support emotional expression, problem-solving, confidence, emotional regulation, and connection.
Sessions are adapted to each child's developmental and emotional needs.
4
Clay Field Therapy® & Sensorimotor Art Therapy
Sensory and body-based approaches can be particularly helpful for children and teens who experience strong emotions, stress, or difficulty with regulation.
Working with clay and other sensory materials provides opportunities to explore movement, touch, boundaries, regulation, and emotional experiences in a supportive therapeutic environment.
Parent & Family Support
Supporting a child often means supporting the family as well.
When appropriate, parents and caregivers may be included in the therapeutic process to better understand their child's emotional needs, strengthen connection, and develop practical strategies that can be used at home.
